Cherishing the Now
Why we created Pawsh & Pasture for Daphne and Huxley.
Today, our home is filled with the energy of Huxley, our Weimaraner, and Daphne, our sweet Bernese Mountain Dog rescue.
Daphne came to us three years ago with a heavy past. A former breeding dog, she arrived shut down, battling Lyme disease, and unsure of how to even accept a pet or a hug. It took time, patience, and good food to help her blossom. Since the day we adopted her, she has eaten human-grade, limited-ingredient meals—a standard set by Alistair and Chelsea years ago.
Recently, we received gut-wrenching news. Daphne has been diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer. The diagnostic process was expensive and exhausting, only to be told there is little we can do to extend her life significantly.
This is the hard truth of loving dogs: sometimes you do everything "right," and you still face heartbreak.
So, why do we continue to obsess over single ingredients? Why did we launch Pawsh & Pasture?
We do it because we know how incredibly important it is to cherish every single day we have with them. We can't always control how long they are here, but we can absolutely control what we put into their bodies while they are.
When I give Daphne a duck wing or a treat now, I know exactly what she is eating. No mystery, no fillers, just pure nutrition that she enjoys. It’s a small act of love in a world where we often feel helpless. Pawsh & Pasture exists to make it easier for you to share those pure, simple moments of love with your own dogs.
We stand by limited ingredients because our dogs—Alistair, Chelsea, Huxley, and Daphne—deserved nothing less.
